MTPA Control for IPMSM Drives Based on Pseudorandom Frequency-Switching Sinusoidal Signal Injection

Among various maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control schemes for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drives, the signal-injection-based methods exhibit relatively high overall performance due to their accuracy and satisfactory dynamic performance. However, current spectrum peaks induced by fixed-frequency signal injection may cause electromagnetic interference even audible noise problems in applications, such as electric vehicles, vessels, aircraft. To address this problem, an MTPA method using pseudorandom frequency-switching sinusoidal is proposed paper. The signals with two different frequencies are randomly injected into d- q-axis currents points can be tracked according resultant system response. In way, a high-performance achieved regardless of parameter variations. Since frequency varies randomly, harmonic components phase no longer concentrate at certain frequencies, caused reduced accordingly. experimental results demonstrate validity presented method.
